Attorney, Oakland Port Commissioner Pamela Calloway
Oakland, CA, July 22, 2010 -- Economic development expert Pamela Calloway has joined the board of directors of the East Bay Community Foundation.
Calloway is an experienced attorney, principal of her own economic development consulting firm, Calloway & Associates, and is a member of the Oakland Port Commission.
"Given her background and because of the East Bay Community Foundation’s focus on advancing economic development for adults and families in need and on ensuring young children are successful in the education system so they have economic opportunity when they become adults, Pamela Calloway is a valuable addition to our governing board," said a joint statement issued by Deborah Alvarez-Rodriguez, the Foundation’s Board Chair, and Nicole Taylor, the Foundation’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Calloway was formerly President of the Private Industry Council of San Francisco, a nonprofit agency that administers employment, training, and research services to San Francisco employers and job seekers.
"I am pleased to join the distinguished civic leaders and staff of the Foundation to harness leadership, effective philanthropy, and financial capital in order to change lives of individuals, families, and communities in the East Bay," said Calloway.
